I know every Marvel fan just couldn't wait for the next MCU phase to launch. With movies like the Avengers 4, Captain Marvel (hello, Jude Law), and Spider-Man: Far From Home in the 2019 roster, we just can't help but look forward to the next compelling arcs that will further the string of narratives we have grown to love.
But the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also celebrating its 10th year anniversary. It's a chance to look back on the marvelous world it managed to create on the big screen--one defying time and gravity, introducing otherworldly realms, and ultimately bringing the world's mightiest heroes together.
From the 13th of October until the 21st, all 16 films that make up the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe will be returning to Philippine theaters for the Marvel Studios 10th Anniversary Movie Marathon. Every Marvel movie ever produced, from 2008's Iron Man to 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, will be shown once more in 23 cinemas across the country. The best part is, movie tickets would only cost P100 each.
The last time I saw a Marvel movie on the big screen, half the population was wiped out with just the snap of Thanos' fingers. Yes, regrettably, I wasn't able to catch "Ant-Man and The Wasp" when it started showing in the cinemas come the first week of July.
I kept myself in the dark regarding anything about the sequel, and knew nothing except what the trailers have revealed. But today is the day I can get some answers. Answers that will only show themselves on the screen. And when life (or, in this case, Marvel) gives you a second chance, you take it.
As "Ant-Man and The Wasp" is back on selected cinema websites and ticketing counters, I can experience the thrill and astonishment of seeing Marvel's latest film inside the theater. I've been told it sized-up to fans' expectations, keeping its easygoing, family-friendly humor that everyone loved in the first film.
"Iron Man 3," "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "Thor: Ragnarok," "Doctor Strange," "Black Panther," and "Captain America: Civil War" are also some of the films I'd like to watch in the cinema again. Countless Marvel movie marathons have had its runs on cable television, but let's admit it, nothing comes close to watching it on the big screen.
The Marvel Movie Marathon is a great way to catch up on movies you missed (targeted for now lax MCU fans like me), and also a chance for MCU diehards to covert friends into fellow Marvel geeks! Just take note that different sets of movies will be shown in dedicated cinemas each day, so make sure you check the movie schedules before heading to the mall.
Marvel Philippines also has an ongoing toy giveaway exclusive for Marvel Movie Marathon ticket holders. It's easy to join the contest. Just take a photo of your movie stub/s and upload it in the comments section of the Facebook giveaway post. Make sure you type a compelling reason why you are the ultimate Marvel geek (aka why you should win) before hitting the enter button! Only 5 winners will receive premium Hot Toys Cosbaby figures.
From Oct. 13 to 21, get movie tickets to watch any of the past 16 Marvel films for only P100 per title at any participating theaters nationwide.
